Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course

Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course opened in 1971 and was designed by Joe Lee. Just two years ago, the course underwent a significant redesign by Ken Baker, including renovating holes 14 to 17 and all 18 greens. The investment in these upgrades is evident as you play, with the course showcasing the high quality of the renovations. Named after the over 1,500 magnolia trees adorning the course, the Magnolia Golf Course offers a picturesque and challenging experience.

This par-71 course stretches 7,560 yards from the black tees, with a slope rating of 141 and a course rating of 76.0. Its length and difficulty are noticeable, providing a thrilling challenge for any golfer.

What makes Disney World Magnolia Golf Course truly unique is its enchanting blend of challenging golf and Disney magic. As one of the original Walt Disney World Resort golf courses, it holds a special place in the hearts of many golf and Disney enthusiasts. The course’s design is a testament to classic golf architecture, featuring wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and water hazards that test the skills of even the most seasoned golfers. However, what sets it apart is the subtle Disney touch you will find throughout the course. From the Mickey Mouse-shaped bunker on the sixth hole to the impeccable course maintenance and Disney’s renowned customer service, every aspect of the Magnolia Golf Course is designed to provide an unforgettable golfing experience.

Golf Course Rates

Rates at the Disney Magnolia Golf Course vary depending on the time of day. Morning rates typically hover around $120 per person year-round, but prices drop significantly as the day passes. Starting at 4:40 pm, you can play for as low as $43, an absolute steal for such a high-quality course. The course offers amenities, features, and conditions that rival those of private golf clubs. There's currently a 15% discount on green fees due to ongoing construction on two holes, 16 and 17, which are back-to-back par 3s. Despite the ongoing construction, playing here is worth it. I had a tee time at 5:10 pm and completed all 18 holes before dark, thanks to the quick pace of play. It was an incredible experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the course.

Additionally, discounts are available for Disney Vacation Club members, Annual Passholders, Military personnel, AAA Diamond members, and Florida residents.

My Disney Round

As I knew I would arrive late in the day in Orlando, I was trying to figure out what to do. I started looking at golf courses in Orlando and found many positive reviews of Disney golf courses. I was intrigued, wondering why I had never tried them before. I hadn't realized they had up to four courses, so I went on a mission to play them all.

I decided to try Disney Golf for the first time and write about my experience. I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The price was very reasonable since I booked a tee time for later in the day. Upon arriving at the golf site, I was amazed. It felt like a country club, with three golf courses, multiple practice ranges, and a beautiful pro shop.

The pro shop was impressive, filled with unique Disney golf items you don't find in the parks. From clothes to headcovers and other golf accessories, it's a must-see for every Disney and golf fan. The cast members were friendly and helpful, living up to Disney's reputation for exceptional customer service. You can also get a whole bucket of range balls at a low cost, which is worth it before your round.

Overall, I had a great time playing this course. The trees and water hazards made the course challenging and fun. The different par 3s, especially hole 6 with the Mickey bunker, added to the experience. The course strikes a perfect balance, with just enough Disney touches for fans and an excellent layout for golf enthusiasts.
